What People Think of Bundling the Nintendo Wii Sports

The Wii has gained notoriety given that its launching from the four key markets in December of 2006. The concept from the Wii was 1st spoken of through the E3 press conference in 2004. Later, it was unveiled at the 2005 E3 when Satoru Iwata showed a prototype with the controller at the Tokyo Video game Show in 2005.

Because it was very first made readily available in the states in November of 2006 the Nintendo Wii sporting activities bundle is selling like pancakes. Youngsters and adults alike are raving about how cool the Nintendo Wii Sports activities Bundle is. During its debut in the 2006 E3, Nintendo Wii won the Ideal Hardware and Ideal of Display Awards from the Game Critics Awards. Every reputable gaming magazine is also hailing the Wii as the video game console breakthrough. The Wii even got an Emmy from The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for Game Controller Innovation.

The question that begs to be answered is: Why is Wii so common? What does Wii have that PS3 and XBOX360 can't simply surpass its fan base?

The media has been whining about how our kids are obtaining unhealthier by the day, due to technology (i.e. video games) so Nintendo came up with all the revolutionary gaming console that is Nintendo Wii. Inadvertently it seems that aside from addressing the dilemma of our kids becoming couch potatoes Wii has provided interactive gaming that makes the player feel like he or she is really inside video game.

The most motivating factor within the rise on the Wii is the Wii Athletics Bundle. They sell the console together with 5 cool sports video game. You can genuinely express yourself when you play the Wii.

Unfortunately we've been seeing some analysts propose that the Wii Sports be unbundled. Why you may possibly ask? Well their line of reasoning revolves around the suggestion that if you break the Wii sports activities bundle the price in the console itself which is currently $249 might be lowered to $199 to make it "more affordable". Additionally the analyst is insinuating that the Nintendo Wii Sports activities bundle sales are heading for a decline and that if it truly is unbundled then it ought to grow strong again by 2009.

Very first of all Wii's popularity is because of the fact that it can be being sold as a bundle. Second, how can the Nintendo Wii Sports Bundle be heading into decline when, even as we speak, Nintendo is scrambling to fill in all the orders. The demand is exceeding the obtainable supply albeit the 1.8 million consoles Nintendo is shelling out a month.

Lastly Nintendo Wii Sports bundle is so well-known not only using the younger demographics but also the older ones. Some folks are even saying that they do not buy any other games after purchasing a Nintendo Wii sports bundle. Why mess with a excellent thing, when people are perfectly happy with all the Nintendo Wii sporting activities Bundle just as it's?

The Wii Fit Sports - An Introduction

As of Apr.25.08 the WiiFit is available in Germany, too. Funny thing on the side: The console had until this date still to be available in the USA, because it was first designed for a weight of 300 pounds max. This could be a little problem for some Americans. But the Wii Fit needs to be robust, since it was made for working out with.

First I thought who needs a Wii Fit anyway. What's it going to do? But then I watched Videos from Japan and later from Germany, I thought, well hummmmm, maybe. My friend was excited about it, but also very unsure. So we did not place a preorder. But then curiosity prevailed and we secured a bundle on sale. As soon as we got home in got unwrapped and tested.

The Wii Fit was designed to have fun while moving and exercising. You improve your Body-Mass-Index, your body balance and stature and all this while having fun! There's even talk about installing Wii Fit in Fitness Centres. But I don't even like going out to gyms to work out, because of the many people there, the transmuting and the monthly fee they charge. All this favours the idea of using the Wii Fit to work out at home. You can work out any time you like and there's nobody watching you. And you still got your own personal trainer and you are still being challenged.

Packing and Content

The Balance Board is well covered and protected. The software CD is well wrapped and of cause there is a nice and detailed manual. You'll also find four batteries, which is very handy. The box is light and it's even got a plastic handle.

The Balance Board

The Balance Board is rather big and a bit heavy, which is ok, it's got to carry some weight, right? You'll know right away it belongs to the Wii. The surface is white and its got the Wii Logo on it. There are two pads where you'll have to place your feet. These pads are covered with anti-slip so you dont fall off too easy.

The board leaves a very elegant and still robust impression. It can carry folks with up to over 300 pounds. As we stepped on it, it didn't give in the slightest. We are not the heaviest, but no lightweights, either. The board installation and setup is a no-brainer. You push the Sync Buttons on the Wii and on the board (in the battery compartment). Doesn't even have to be at the same time, almost at the same time is good enough. This registers the Board as a remote control to the Wii, just like the Wiimote, because from now on you control half of the game with the balance board. Don't forget to turn on the Board, too! The power button is on the front of the Wii Fit Balance Board. It's amazing how sensitive the board is, it registers even little pushes and steps very easily.

The Body Test and the the Scale

Before you start, you'll have to go through a body test and weight. Oh my god, weight...? Yes, the Balance Board scales and even pretty exact, too. You can even tell the talking board how heavy you think your clothes are, and choose from a menu. Got to stay honest, thought.

After feeding the machine with all the useful data, (the Wii can't guess how tall you are...) it figures out your BMI ( Body Mass Index). The Wii needs your height and weight for this. This shows if you got an ideal weight or not. But this is what the Wii Fit is for, right?

The Wii even asks you how much weight you want to loose and within what given time span. It automatically figures out if this is feasible or not. After the Body test you'll have to mark the actual date with a foot stamp. Later on, when you've been exercising a few days you'll need to stamp another date again. You'll get instant results right from the menu, showing you in real time if your exercise has been successful or not, because you'll see your loss of weight.

The software

Naturally not only the Balance Board belongs to the Wii Fit, but also a game. This is used just like any other game that comes with the Wii. You insert the disc, click on the disc channel and Start.

Before you start, though, you have to create your own profile. This is simple, just like with any other game and self-explaining. You choose a Mii that you like and insert your age and your height. Then your weight is taken. Now you'll have to take the body test. After the test the Wii figures out your age, which might be a bit embarrassing. I know of a 23 yrs old friend of mine, the Wii guessed her age at 34...

If you resume a game after logging off, you are taken to the start page. Here you see buttons and the setup menu, if a new user wants to register. Other buttons show the time you've exercised all together and setups like height and password. Click on your own Mii and "Training" and you'll get to the game or the part of the game you've been leaving.
The Wii Fit Game really is a collection of about 40 exercises and mini games. Some of these are only available after you went through a series of serious workouts, successful trainings and exercises. So, you got to go through rather simple games to be eligible to play the harder and longer ones. The games come in four categories: Yoga, muscle strength, aerobics and balance.

Nintendo Wii System With Wii Sports - One of the Most-Requested Gifts For All Ages

Has someone on your list requested the Nintendo Wii System this holiday season? Chances are, they have. Since its initial unveiling, the Wii System has become one of the most sought-after products in the video game industry. It also sells out in a matter of minutes, and is near impossible to find. Sure, other video game systems are being requested, but the difference is by whom!

The typical video gamer is no longer the 8 year old boy clicking buttons on the controller. Nor is it the slightly overweight, 20-something-year-old man who really should be doing something other than trying to beat the top score on the latest role-playing game. Nowadays, it is grandma who is terminally connected to the video game console, beating scores and becoming a pro player in Nintendo's Wii Sports.

At a recent family gathering, we tried to show my grandmother and her friend how to play Wii Sports on the Nintendo Wii System. We mostly did it as a joke, but we knew that the baseball game would interest my grandmother, since she was a huge Yankees fan. Before we knew it, there were two old ladies, one 67 and one 82 years old, swinging the Wii remote and striking each other out (well, I hate to brag, but my 82 year old grandmother did actually hit a few home runs, and ended up winning the game). This is unheard of with other video game consoles.

What is unique about the Nintendo Wii is its controller. Traditional video games like the Sony Playstation and the Microsoft Xbox have controllers that require the user to memorize sets of buttons. These buttons are often located in different spots on the controller, and require the gamer to hit confusing combinations that are not so easy for an older person to learn - especially when that person has not been playing video games all their lives. In contrast, the Nintendo Wii controller uses movement. If you want to pitch the ball in the baseball game, for example, then you hold up the remote, and move your hands in a throwing motion. Want to hit a strike? Hold the remote like a baseball and swing! The same goes for other games such as golf, bowling and tennis. It is truly a life-like experience that is exciting and easy to learn.

One of these days, perhaps the other video game system makers will follow Nintendo's lead and create a gaming system that allows family members of all ages to join in the fun. For now, only the Nintendo Wii System with Wii Sports is available, and supplies are fading fast! If you'd like to get the Nintendo Wii with Wii Sports for someone special on your Christmas list, get it soon because this system does not stay on the shelves!

We scoured every corner of the internet to find everything you ever wanted to know about Nintendo Wii. Here is the absolute best source we uncovered, Nintendo Wii System with Wii Sports

The 10 Best Sports Games For the Nintendo Wii

The 10 top sports games for the Nintendo Wii are chosen for interaction by the participant. The more activity it requires by the person playing it, the higher it's rank.

The Nintendo Wii allows the player to move their whole body or limbs while they play the sports game, whereas other gaming systems just requires the movement of the player's thumbs. The Nintendo Wii, while it may not have all the great graphics of the other systems, does require more involvement and therefore more coordination.

1) Wii Fit.

This game has over 40 Activities, to keep you going. You can do yoga exercises, strength exercises, aerobic exercises, and balance sports games. This game is still in great demand across the USA. I personally spend 50 minutes a day, no less than 4 times a week, this is the core of my exercise routine..

2) Wii Sports

This game is bundled with the Nintendo Wii. It has boxing, bowling, golf, tennis and baseball It has more nostalgic meaning, this is how you got used to playing the Nintendo Wii. The graphics are not the greatest, but it is still fun to play.

3) Active Life Outdoor Challenge

This game looks like it might challenge Wii Fit. It has many of the aerobic exercises that Wii Fit has, with twice the fun. with over a dozen single and multi-player events like river rafting, mine-cart adventure, log jumping, and more. It is quickly becoming the favorite of the young and the old.

4) Wii Ski

The Wii Fit balance board is utilized with this game. There are "activities or missions" that are built into some of the games. There are over 14 different courses to ski, and three different levels - beginner and intermediate skiers, and black diamonds for the advanced skiers! Then there is also good old fashioned racing.

5) Tiger Woods Golf

Is by far the best golf game I have played. I already know what my golfing problems are - putting. This game has helped me to improve this part of my "real" game. I like the fact that you have to stand up and swing it like a real club. With Tiger Wood Golf 09 you can now play online. If you do not care about playing online, then get 08 for half the price. You can also set up a career for yourself, and work your way through the courses.

6) Super Swing Golf 1 or 2

This golf game is more arcade than real, but it is still fun. I like the fact that you can stand up and swing the wii remote like a real golf club. It is fun just trying to hit the ball around the obstacles

7) Top Spin

I love playing tennis, and this is the best tennis game. You can swing the racket like real life. You have to practise like you do in real life. You have 19 stars to chose from. Unfortunately, you can not play online. .

8) Madden NFL

An excellent football game.Play like a pro no matter what your skill level with the Adaptive Difficulty Engine that tailors your experience to suit your proficiency. There is a virtual training center where you can hone your skills. I am not a real football fan, but I am actually getting into this game. Made for 1 to 4 players, and you can play online.

9) Summer Sports

This is a lot of fun. My favorite games are the mini-golf and volleyball, but there are seven games to chose from - Basketball, Croquet, Lawn Darts, Badminton, Volleyball, Horse Shoes, and nine uniquely-themed Mini-Golf holes. While it is not Wii Fit or Wii Sports, I can get the whole family to play.

10) Hooked

While I do not consider fishing or hunting sports, I still love playing this game. You work your way up the ranks from amateur to Pro. I love fishing and this is a good game, though it has some glitches, it is still fun.

I was never a gamer, but now with the Nintendo Wii, I have to fight with my stepson about who's turn it is to play. These are my favorite Wii Sports Games. That is all I play on the Wii - sports because the game system is so interactive. So, the graphics are inferior to the Xbox or PS3. I played adventure games that had no graphics!

Wii Sports Gaming Guide - Be Sure to Get a Winning Strike!

For a game that you get as complementary with the Wii, you would maybe expect it to be a little lacking, or so simple that it is 'simply boring'. Well, if you have a Wii, you will know that Wii Sports is far from dull. It's actually great fun, and it's still one of my favourite games for the Wii.

Wii Sports is so simple that anybody can play it. Whether you're 3 or 103, you are bound to love this game. The onscreen gameplay instructions are really clear, anybody can do it! What's more, when you play Wii Sports, you really get a feel of being in the bowling alley or tennis court for real. The sound effects and scenery details are pretty authentic, making the whole casual gaming experience much more fun!

For the Baseball, Tennis and Boxing games, the game is played by the hand and arm movements that you make whilst holding the Wiimote and/or nunchuck. For the Bowling and Golf games, you will also need to make the movements that you would if you were playing the games 'for real', coupled with one or two presses on the Wiimote buttons. It's as easy as 123.

Savvy Tip!

Are you having trouble getting strikes in Wii Sports Bowling? Does your bowling ball always drift to the left or to the right even though you are sure that you bowled it straight? Don't worry, it happens to the best of us. The best way to get more strikes is to put some spin on your ball. Try aiming your ball to the left if it usually drifts to the right, and vice versa. Experiment with putting spin on your bowling ball by twisting your wrist slightly. Try it, and see what happens. It should improve your scores, and wow your Wii friends at the same time as you become a Wii Sports expert!

Savvy Tip 2!

To serve those winning aces in Wii Sports tennis, try to hit the ball when it is at the highest point in the air. That way you should be able to achieve a power serve that will leave your opponent dumbfounded. Power serves are really difficult to return, so they are a great way to win the game!

Happy Wii'ing!

What Wii Sports Brings and What it Lacks

People buying new Wii's also quickly find out they're getting the Wii Sports disc. This package of five sports simulations is now even more widely distributed than the Super Mario Bros. game franchise.

The Wii Sports interface comes alive when the gamer clutches the Wiimote and pantomimes swinging a golf club, throwing a punch, bowling a ball, swinging a tennis racket, or swinging a bat. Motion sensors on the console detect the gesture and reproduce it in the game. The five activities essentially are stripped down versions of the real events and significantly lack realistic strategy elements. Wii Sports does quite successfully demonstrate the promise of Wii technology.

Wii Sports Games Rundown

Wii Sports Baseball might remind you of the annual summer All-Star Break homer contest. You hold the remote and swing as if holding a real bat for the hitting. Swing power and timing are your choice. The strike zone takes care of itself. To pitch, you make a forward, overhand motion. Pitch speed is determined by how quickly the Wii mote makes the gesture. You as pitcher also decide whether to throw a screwball, fastball, or change up by pressing either the A or B button or both. The D pad controls your pitch location. The three-inning games are more enjoyable with two players matching wits, but the game also does an adequate job of challenging one player.

Novice gamers will particularly enjoy Wii Sports Bowling. Being incredibly realistic, competing bowling simulations really have no room to improve on Wii's rendition. If you bowl in the real world, picking up this virtual version is a snap. Vary the angle you face the console and roll your wrist and arm to manage spin and direction. The crowd gets pumped up and loud when you knock down a strike or spare. Hey, who wants to pay to wear stiff, cramped bowling shoes that give you athlete's foot in a heartbeat? You don't need to in Wii Bowling.

Feel the sweat trickling down your brow. Most players find out fast that boxing is the most physically intense challenge of the Wii Sports suite. Your onscreen character is customized with the Mii image you create using the Wii online channel. The nunchuk plugs into the remote for this game, and the controller pair sends your movements to the console. You won't feel the actual impact of your landed jabs, so you will find gameplay more like swinging at an imaginary person. But you get to avoid the emergency room trip for a concussion.

Tennis is about form and timing. Flipping the remote upward throws the ball skyward as you serve. Your serve or return direction depends entirely on your swing timing. You can make forehand and backhand shots, and you can choose to lob or smash. Return the ball with professional spin. The game automatically moves your character to the ball. You won't have laser focused accuracy as in real life. Play singles or doubles. You can also play the system if you're on your own.

Golf challenges players with holes covering a range of skill levels. You control the angle and power of your shot as you swing the remote. Newbies will find mastering the necessary skills quite tough. It really is not intuitive. You take turns with your golfing buddies teeing off, taking fairway shots, and trying to sink puts. Water hazards, wind, and sand traps dot the course as obstacles. Diehard players will eventually master the game with a bunch of practice. Kids might not have the patience to get to that point.

Wii Sports Training and Fitness

Along with the standard gaming mode, the Wii Sports package includes Training and Fitness modules. The training helps work on specific skills to use in the regular games version and gives veteran gamers some fun twists. Bowling includes increasing numbers of pins in different formations as well as some creative lane barriers. You find yourself in a home run slugfest in baseball training. You return serves during tennis training, trying keep to keep your streak unbroken. Your golf training challenge is to get the ball back on the green from deep in the rough, in the woods, or from other tough spots. In boxing practice, you must assault punching bags until you blast them clean off their mounts. The system tests your fitness in the Fitness mode with three random events and then tells you at what age level you perform.

Wrap Up

Wii Sports succeeds at demonstrating the Wii's potential to the masses. Its five entertaining games -- tennis, boxing, baseball, golf, and bowling -- are near the top of the list of most popular Wii games. The training and fitness modes throw in fun variations on classic sports. While the graphics and strategy could be considered cheesy to varying degrees, development of more sophisticated games for the best-selling gaming console is all but certain. Not too long ago Pac Man and power pellets were state-of-the-art. Electronic gaming has evolved by leaps and bounds since. Wii Sports may be just the ticket to spark a new age of interactive gaming.
