The Nintendo Wii has already set all sorts of sales records for a game system. It was completely sold out for a long time and even now the stores are having a hard time keeping it on the shelves. If you are a lucky owner, lets have a look at how to download Wii games so you can get new games whenever you want.

Surprisingly, many people are not aware that downloading Wii games is a possibility. Many PSP owners have been using downloads for a long time now -- you can do the same thing for your Nintendo Wii.

Where is the best place to find these downloads? You have two options -- let's take a look at them.

Option Number OneYou can find a few websites that advertise having free Nintendo Wii downloads. These websites certainly sound great at first, but there are a few things you should know before you hit that download button.

The main problem with these websites is that you run the risk of downloading viruses or spyware. In fact there have been many websites in recent months that have been shut down for this exact reason

Besides running the risk of damaging your computer, you will also find that many of the downloads are corrupt -- meaning they won't work at all. Considering how slow the downloads are, it can be a huge pain waiting days for a game to finish downloading only to find out that it doesn't work.

You will also find that the files are labeled incorrectly. The game that you think you are downloading will end up being something completely different. This can be a real headache.

If you do decide to try this option, be extra careful with what you are downloading. Most people will just skip it and go straight for the second option.

Option Number TwoThere are companies that have put together specialty Nintendo Wii download websites. You can download not only the newest games, but also movies, TV shows and music.

As you might expect, these websites do charge a membership fee. The companies pay good money to have access to the latest games and other files so they need to charge fees to maintain their websites. The cost isn't expensive (about $40-$50) and lets you download as many games as you want, whenever you want.

These websites are extremely easy to use once you get the hang of it. The software to transfer games to your Nintendo Wii is included and it only takes about three minutes to get going. All you need to do whenever you want to get a new game or movie is to login to the website and search for the game you want.

Try to avoid any website that also charges a monthly fee. You can find websites that only charge a one time fee for a lifetime membership. After the first charge you won't ever be billed again. It's tremendous value for your money.

There is no doubt that the Nintendo Wii will continue to fly off the shelves. It's a game system that is popular with all age ranges and is full of all sorts of features.
