This development library isn't strictly Wiibrew, but since it concerns the Wii peripherals, it rightly belongs here in the Wii blog. WiiRemoteJ is a library that allows the Wiimote and the Balance Board to interact with computers via Bluetooth, with Java as the medium.

Dancing with the stars WII/DS

Dancing with the Stars: Get Your Dance On! features all-new stars such as Mel B, Apolo Anton Ohno, Joey Fatone and Jennie Garth. Players will be able to cha-cha with new professional dancers including Derek Hough, and his sister, two-time “Dancing with the Stars” champion, Julianne Hough.

Wii-DVD plans on hold. TV on the DS?

Whilst Nintendo may have been planning to allow Wii owners to play DVD’s on their consoles from the very first day, plans were thought to have been temporarily put on hold whilst Nintendo ironed out one or two undisclosed issues. Now, however, it would appear that the potential DVD-compatible version of Wii could be even further away than everyone actually thought.


Nintendo DS owners in Japan, as Nikkei is reporting the company has confirmed it will be giving the 1-seg TV Tuner (that allows Japanese DS users to view digital television broadcasts) for the Nintendo DS a full-scale retail release next month, in July, following a overwhelming response to online sales.

Maracas confirmed for Samba de Amigo on Wii

As the HMV website states,

New Wii Channel

There will be a new channel coming to the Wii, most llikely through Wiiware, where gamers can post review of games, the condition is that they play the game for at least one hour and that they own the game of course. I believe the channel will be called 'simply Nintendo'

Something "generative" to try at home with a Wii Controller

Wii Ware is here!

That is right. Tomorrow (May 12th) Nintendo will be officially launching the Wii Ware games section in North America. This means that non-virtual console games can finally be downloaded to the console and use the full wii hardware! Some of the games look really good, while others look like flash ports.
