Wii Repair - How to Carry Out a Totally Effective Wii Repair - Quickly and Easily

The increasing popularity of the Nintendo Wii is demonstrated by its amazing sales figures. According to the latest sales figures from Nintendo, it has sold 24.45 million Wii systems worldwide since the Wii was launched in November 2006. The United States has almost 9 million Wii's, which beats even the Japanese who have 5.6 million systems.

It's inevitable with such a popular console that some suffer problems during use. The Nintendo has a great record but various problems have been reported. Its essential to ensure an effective wii repair that you note the type of error.

The most common are disc errors and the most common are when the console is unable to read the disc. There are two easy fixes here. The first is to ensure that you are correctly loading the disc. Basically if your console is placed vertically, the disc label will face to the right.  If your console is placed horizontally, the disc label will face upwards. If you are inserting the disc correctly then try cleaning the disc. Any type of grease from fingers or other foreign material will interfere with the consoles ability to read the disc. Cleaning is very straightforward. Simply use a slightly damp soft cotton cloth (only ever use water to dampen the cloth) to wipe the disc from its center to the edge in straight lines. Let the disc dry and then try it again.

Another common error is that the Controllers will not synchronize. The solution is simple. Open the battery cover on the remote and press the Sync button. You will see blinking lights on the front of the controller. Now find the Sync button on the Wii and press that button. DON'T PUSH BOTH BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME. Repeat the process for all other controllers - one at a time. This should resolve the problem.

Another problem that I get reported is that the power on the Wii turns on momentarily and then turns off. Now the AC adapter has a trip switch which is designed to prevent power surges. Simply unplug the Wii for 5 minutes or so and then plug it back in and it should then power up correctly.

I seem to be having lots of users reporting slow downloads or errors during connecting. To cure this switch the channel on your router to either 1 or 11.

If your Wii asks you for a start-up disc then its a sign that you have been supplied with a demo disc - a quick call to Nintendo for a start-up disc will solve this problem.

If you are getting WiiConnect errors when trying to connect with a 5 or 6 digit error code then visit Nintendo s Customer Service site and enter the relevant error code. Be warned though that they will try and prompt you to call them and end up buying a new system!

A far better way is to get hold of a decent repair guide which shows you how to carry out a Wii repair yourself. It's not as difficult as you may think and the best guides have step by step instructions and also videos which actually demonstrate the Wii repair.

One of the best guides I have found as a Wii expert is The Nintendo Wii Fix Guide, take a look here:
