Wii Fit: How It Works

Gamers love it, parents vouch for it, and if sales of a game are any indication, Nintendo's Wii Fit has made quite a show, for now. There's a good reason for that: playing on the Wii Fit makes you "Fit" indeed. Play games; get a little exercise across four categories namely: aerobics, flexibility, balance and muscle training.

The Nintendo Wii Fit has been selling like hot cakes - number is at 2 million sales and counting - for the simple reason that it gives you the possibility of having fun while exercising. But then, how does it work? What are the various elements that combine together to give you the "Wii Fit" experience? Let's take a non-technical, skirting look at how it works:

The simple thing about the game is that the controller is operated by movements from your arm using which you swing golf clubs and send the ball shooting off into the distance, play back hand and spin the tennis ball for your opponent to deal with, or hurl the bowling all to knock off all the skittles, etc. If you have never considered a gym membership before because you were shy or if time doesn't give you that privilege, you could submit yourself to your own routines of lunging, jumping, push-ups, abdominal crunches and much more - all of these while actually playing a game.

A Wii Fit Balance board tags along with the Package - a small wireless contraption that works like a gyroscope -- that can sense all your movements, weight shifts and translate these movements to the character on the screen. The Wii Balance Board does a lot like starting your Body Mass Index (BMI), your age and then tracks your progress - the very thing that makes it interesting to continue playing since most people find out that they get better as time passes on. As an aside, Wii Fit Plus comes with the same package but with a lot more games than the usual.

Nintendo's Wii Games like the Wii Fit come with a choice of controllers that work as input devices for your games. For serious gamers, plenty of controller variations and accessories and gadgets exist to make your experience in gaming better. Some of these gadgets include the Nunchuk, the Wii Remote, the Wii Wheel, the Wii Zapper (which looks like a Tommy gun and is used for shooting).

Apart from the gadgets, there are other hardware/software combinations that can make your gaming experience even better such as a video adapter, the Wii Vitality Sensor - which measures your anxiety levels and the Wii Remote Charging Dock for anywhere, anytime charging to give you a seamless, continuous, and fun-filled experience.

With a combination of the latest computer graphics, software and hardware, the Wii Fit makes gaming a healthy experience. Aided with the controller variations and various gadgets along with other accessories, the Wii Fit or the Wii Fit plus - makes itself available through the consoles itself along with making many more people connecting to form a community you can relate to.
