OK I know this is not a new phone but I thought I would share how I flashed my Samsung u900 Soul.
Flashing the phone allows you to install the latest software and in my case de-brand it which removed all the o2 branding which was installed on the phone.
If you have any questions please post them below before starting this procedure on your Samsung u900.
First thing to remember is BACK UP YOUR PHONE, this includes Pictures, Wallpapers, Music, and Contacts you have saved on your phone.
What you will need:
USB cable that came with your phone.Samsung PC Studio 3 (it contains the drivers for your phone and has every thing you need for backup).Multiloader 5.33 – Download Here.Latest Firmware – Download Here.Samsung u900 Soul Flashing Instructions:
Make sure Samsung PC Studio is installed and communicates with your phone, unpack the firmware in a folder you can easily find it.Remove the Sim Card and MicroSD from the phone and replace the battery.With the phone OFF connect the phone and computer with the USB cable.While holding the no. 9 button on the phones keypad, press the power button, the phone screen will come on black with a red stripe that says “Download”.Now run MultiLoader v5.33.Select the radio button that includes MSM6275/MSM6280.Select Boot Change and Full Download.Then click Boot, and select the boot files from the unpacked firmware folder.Click the Amss, Rsrc1, and Rsrc2.Then press the Factory FS tab, and select the appropriate files from the firmware folder also.Select (Low).r2c NOT (Mid).r2c. (Phone may not restart if you select mid).FOTA and ETC fields are left blank.Click the Port Search button, it will find your phone and show the com port is ready.Click the download button and be patient, this will take a few minutes to complete.When it’s finished, it will show “ok complete”.Unplug the phone from the USB cable, reinstall the sim, MicroSD, and power up the the phone.Now with every thing complete, perform a hard reset by typing *2767*3855# into the hand set.When the phone resets type *#1234# into your handset to check your new firmware version.Thats it your Samsung u900 Soul should be updated and also de-branded.
